Mastery Challenges are a new mechanic added to the game in its most recent update, and they allow Ghost of Tsushima: Legends players to take their level 110 gear all the way up to level 120. This will be needed in order to complete the new raid that is coming soon. Here's everything players need to know about getting level 120 gear.
The first thing players need to know about Mastery Challenges is that they can only be applied to gear that is already at level 110. As previously mentioned, this means players will either have to reforge their gear repeatedly or get it from a Nightmare story or survival challenge. After getting a piece to level 110, go to the modifications page by pressing square and scroll to the bottom. Activating a Mastery Challenge costs 2000 essence and unlocks a challenge that players will have to complete. It also binds that gear to that class, meaning players won't be able to use it on any other characters from then on.
After starting a Mastery Challenge, players must complete it to increase the power of their gear by two points. This means that each piece of gear will have five different Mastery Challenges that must be completed before the gear reaches the new max level. Mastery Challenges take many forms, and while they aren't usually hard per se, they do require a lot of patience. Examples of potential Mastery Challenges include dismantling legendary items of a specific type, getting a certain number of kills, surviving a curse, completing a Nightmare challenge, and many more. |
