CITAZIONE
Onechanbara Z2: Chaos for PlayStation 4 has Banana & Strawberry costumes as a first print bonus. Instead of a full on banana or strawberry suit, D3′s bonus costumes are just three pieces of fruit. Watch the video to find out, but please note this is probably not safe for work.

Onechanbara-Z2-Chaos_2014_08-28-14_001.jpg_600

CITAZIONE
Coming off the recently revealed introductory movie and preorder bonuses for Onechanbara Z2: Chaos, D3 Publisher has revealed more information about new gameplay mechanics coming to the PlayStation 4 game, specifically the introduction of what the company has dubbed the “Cross Merge Combination System.”

The basic gist of the Cross Merge Combination System is that it enables players to have multiple characters running around on screen simultaneously, rather than be simply confined to the series’ previous standards of swapping between two characters on the fly. As other characters are brought in as backup, attacks can be coordinated among them on the battlefield in order to effectively deal with the hordes of enemies that will face them, as well as pull off proper combination attacks, the specifics of which are dependent upon individual character controls.

At the outset of the game, only two characters at a time can be brought in to levels to fight, but eventually can progress to up to four total. It’s worth noting, though, that the Cross Merge Combination System isn’t something that’s always on during the game per se, but rather has to be triggered by building up a gauge during levels, which occurs automatically over time. More and more characters in the party will then be ready to join the fray in whichever order players decide ahead of time prior to fighting. Timing is also said to be important, as the system is most potent when used in response to ongoing battlefield conditions (e.g.: boss encounters).

D3 Publisher is quick to note, however, that despite the presence of the Cross Merge Combination System, Onechanbara Z2: Chaos is still a single player game, through and through, meaning it remains up to the player to manage their available characters well by swapping between which one to play as needed during fights to come out on top in each level. The system is said to be accommodating of players of all skills levels, with advanced players able to dynamically make the most of combo attacks, while those less skilled can still enjoy playing with it on their own terms.

Onechanbara Z2: Chaos is set to arrive in Japan for the PlayStation 4 on October 30.

D3 Publisher has announced retailer-specific pre-order bonuses for Onechanbara Z2: Chaos in Japan.

Consumers who pre-order from Amazon Japan will receive the “Earth Defense Force 2017 Portable Pale Wing Pink Set” costume download code. In addition to the costume, it also includes the “Pale Visor” hat.

Joshin pre-orders include an exclusive smartphone wallpaper.

GEO pre-orders include a “Moffumoffu Accessory Set: Hands of Cat and Leg Fur” download code. As you could imagine, this costume dresses the game’s heroines in fur, including leg fur, and cat hands and feet.

CITAZIONE
At Tokyo Game Show, CERO Z games have to be played behind a closed curtain at the bare minimum, since they’re “over 18” games. Typically, publishers close off an area for CERO Z games. Onechanbara Z2: Chaos does something different…

CITAZIONE
With just two weeks to go until the game is out on Japanese store shelves, D3 Publisher has decided to run a brief press release outlining a handful of new moves players can pull off in Onechanbara Z2: Chaos, with a major focus on expanding upon combos. Check out our translation information below.

Pleasing Action Gameplay

In Onechanbara Z2: Chaos, players can enjoy a wide variety of exhilirating combat. Let’s take a small look at some of what the game has to offer.

COOL Combination Attacks
After you start attacking, if you press the attack button again with good timing, both of your character’s hands will glow blue and transition into what’s known as “COOL Combo Attack Mode.” In this state, not only are characters faster, but they can also string together attacks that are stronger than what they can normally pull off. Nail the timing and get things down to a rhythm and you’ll be well on your way to having as wonderfully visceral a time as one can have!

Should you manage to land a whole combo string as COOL Combo Attacks, you’ll pull off a special hidden move at the end and which one you get will change depending on the combo you use. The satisfaction you’ll gain when you can pull off series of COOL Combo Attacks over and over again without breaking a sweat is sure to be second to none! Plus, when you that special extra move is triggered at the end, your weapons will automatically reload themselves, too!

Ultimate Combos
The fun doesn’t have to stop with COOL Combo Attacks, though! Get in a series of Cool Combo Attacks that are made up of weak attacks and if you can then swap out characters in the middle of the final special attack with good timing, the new character will add on to the special attack with their own moves. You can do this up to three times, making it possible to bring in all four girls and wreak some real havoc if you’ve got the skill for it!

Ecstasy Combos
Ecstasy Combos are a super strong skill that can be triggered after meting out damage to enemies and building up the Ecstasy Gauge. Although the gauge will continuously drop as time goes on once Ecstasy Combos are activated, in exchange, they get stronger the lower the meter gets! Use it when you’ve got a great opening for it and you could very well turn the tide of battle!

Pursuing Enemies
Whether it’s toward an enemy you’ve got locked on or someone else that’s facing you, the girls in this game can now jump around the battlefield at great speeds. The fastest way to get get around in the game, jumping lets you get around wide open combat arenas in the blink of an eye. What’s more, you can still move around even while juggling enemies in the air, letting you pull off combos in midair. Truly, this is a game where speediness and brute force are one and the same.

Onechanbara Z2: Chaos is due out for PlayStation 4 in Japan on October 30.
